Overall it does, as there's been more successful films from a stage musical than vice versa. Both The Producers and Hairspray went from mediocre films to hit musicals to mediocre films again > I think I would prefer a stage show first though, as I > love the atmosphere/excitement of theatre, and as Jim > would probably say 'it's live, it's real, it has a > pulse'. I much prefer musical theatre to film. > Plus (from a selfish point of view), I think they could > put on a stage show quicker than a film. I dunno. > If they can get it ready in time, anyone think they will > go head-to-head with 'Phantom 2' in late Autumn 2009, or > will they delay into 2010 (as the Mark Dendy article > says)? It won't go head-to-head with POTO 2 as it would lose. POTO2 is going to be THE musical to watch out for in the near future. The Bat musical at best would be 2nd place to it. Jim should stage it when it's ready to be staged and not delay it due to POTO2, otherwise it might never get staged. | |
