Listened to Meat and Marion's version of IACBTMN on youtube this evening (it was the music video but I couldn't make myself watch -- it was like staring at a train wreck). This is the second time I've listened to it (both times on youtube, as I have no desire to invest in the alleged "Bat III") and for me it just does not work on sooo many levels. The song does not work as a duet (what were they thinking?). Meat's vocal is iffy (I think I'm being generous). And Marion lacks both the maturity and the lung power to deliver a convincing performance of this Steinman masterpiece. The Pandora's Box version ... Awesomely fantastic. The Meat version ... Definitely a misdemeanor, possibly a felony.
