Wow! Just "Wow!"
I may be wrong, but I think musically that may be the best Tanz there has ever been (when you consider how much the music itself has changed for the better since Steve Barton did it).
It was a pity that the lighting guy seemed to be a bit overcautious in letting us actually see the stage (were they paying by the Watt or something?!) Also, although most of the set was great, I think they could've done more with the staging for the finale - which is the only aspect of the production that I think was actually done best in the Broadway version.
Those were literally the only let-downs though. Everything else was mindblowing! I finally understood why nobody was blown away by the Berlin Sarah when I heard this girl in Oberhausen; and the guy playing Krolock was just amazing! He got to the end of his first solo and I realised that I hadn't actually moved *at all* the entire time he'd been singing. He had the whole audience hanging on every note.
Can I start my campaign for a cast CD here please?
