I'm very skeptical about the the new craze of remaking horror classics. I've recently seen the new Friday the 13th, and I thought it was crap. Apparently the new direction is more gore-less story. That said, I thought the new Texas Cnainsaw Massacre was quite good.
The Thing is NOES is a much more complicated movie. Playing on deep ancient fears of humanity. And also Freddy is a very complicated character. He actually has a personality. I'm afraid theyre gonna make him a stereotypical Leatherace/Jason/Michael Myers type of character...
