Loads of teenage guys (me included) liked Kate Bush and her version of Wuthering Heights. It was a wonderful song and she looked amazing.

Although, Cliff Richard's Heathcliff was absolutely aimed at a female audience. I went to see it and the audience seemed to be 90% older ladies.

I think you are correct about Wuthering Heights being aimed mainly towards a female audience. Especially the original novel.

It wasn't dreadful. It's a very difficult story to get right. Laurence Olivier made a great Heathcliff. It didn't have any great performances like that.
