Susan did that in her emails and the "other" Susan does that during telly interviews. I am not sure if (a) or (b) applies. Perhaps Pudding would know, since he his an expert on both of the above.
However, it's not just women who are guilty of (a) or (b). I think you are being a bit sexist. Smeghead does the opposite to people he doesn't know very well and he sounds both (a) and (b).
