I've been thinking Ravishing should be redone for a while now, but picking one song I absolutely have to go with Making Love Out Of nothing at All.

I think it may be Jim's greatest song (lyricallY) but none of the recorded versions have good enough production to do the material justice. This may be recording, arranging or vocals. Air Supply is just too light ;0 and the vocals are okay but I find it hard to really identify with these two "guys" singing. I just can't picture either of them making any catches and the sound of a whistle let alone making any stadium rock. Bonnie's version is just a shitty vocal. My opinion from the first time I heard it and still holds true now. Karine's version was the closest to excellent for me. It's hard to judge it based on demo quality but I really like the tweaks in the arrangement, specifically the additional "nothing till I give it to you's" and she beats the others as far as the end glory notes are concerned.

In a way I'm kind of glad that Karine never released that, or anything with Jim. She had some great vocal chops, but so do a lot of people out there. She didn't have a distinctive voice or very memorable appearance. My dream version would probably be Jim recording tracks with Adam Lambert and then have somebody else more current do the final mix (like whoever mixed the new song Battlefield.) Create a epic studio version and the poppy club version. This is done quite often these days.

With a song like MLOONAA I really think it comes down to vocalist first then a updated production. Having been impressed with that short Carrie Underwood version I have no doubt that she could have a hit country version easily. But, I think the song is better than that. Really, any of the diva singers could do this. It's just finding the right one. Not Bonnie.
