| To be fair, the board often gets like this when there's no news on Jim. People drift onto other topics and things that are only mildly Jim-related, and the madness starts to take over. As for the "crazies" - well part of the reason they do it is that the regulars are so easy to wind up here. They get a reaction each time they post, so they continue and the inevitable happens, with the board filling up with crap. C'est la vie - if we ever get any solid news on the musical then things will change. For a while. I usually just avoid this place for a few weeks/months when I get fed up with it and then it never seems quite so bad once I return, but each to their own. As for Polanski, well we have to disagree. He got a 13 year old girl drunk, gave her Quaaludes, asked her if she was on the pill (she wasn't), asked her if she'd had her period recently (she couldn't remember - too drunk & drugged - D'oh!), then turned her over and took her up the arse to avoid getting her pregnant. Despite her wish that the case could be dropped, she has always maintained she said no to him over and over, but he went ahead anyway. The plea bargain downgraded the charges from rape to statutory rape (sex with a minor - which was very much illegal in 1978!) because the rape charge would be hard to prove (her word against his). He then fled the country after being found guilty, causing all this anguish to continue for his victim to the point where she just wants to forget it all. I don't like to see people castigated for one "mistake", but I don't like to see people getting away with something by just running away to another country. The irony of it all is that had Polanksi stayed put, he would have been free years ago. But it was his choice to run, so I have no sympathy for the man. Anyway, I'm not having a go at you Klasien, just putting across my opinion. Hope you decide to stick around (or return eventually), but either way don't stop listening to Jim's music. He isn't responsible for the type of fans he attracts ;-) | |
