Why on a message board do you use your surname?

Steve Stuart died in 2006 of a motorcycle crash around midnight on 28th June 2006, a car traveling down the M40 clipped the back of a heavily-loaded camper van, being driven by German tourists; the camper van was traveling slowly. The car that hit it spun out of control and ended up at a standstill in the fast lane, side-on to traffic, facing the central reservation. This occurred on a stretch of the road which lies on a bend (between junctions 5 and 6), and is very poorly lit. Steve was traveling down the M40 on his way to Oxford, and came round this corner at around 70mph, where he collided with the stationary vehicle at around 12.05am. He would not have seen the car, because of the darkness, and also because of the road’s curve.
Coming up behind this accident were two lorries in the slow and middle lane; seeing the flashing hazard lights of the camper van, which had pulled over, one of these lorries overtook the other, going into the fast lane, in order to give a wide berth to what he perceived as the accident. Again because of the bend in the road and the lighting situation, he crashed into Steve, the motorbike and the car, carrying Steve’s body some way down the motorway.
However, Steve's death was instantaneous when he hit the car; he would have felt no pain, and the injuries caused to him by the lorry were inflicted posthumously. For this at least we can be thankful.

I apologice if this appears as a sick joke - just seems odd.
