| I was asking an academic question to see if an arguement could be made in favour of casting Meat as Hook. Would there be any advantage to the production or to Meat? I was not saying that Meat will actually be cast as Hook. I'm glad that you considered the question without automatically saying "no way". I'm not sure if I agree with your conclusions regarding Meat's shadow. Jim has a much more varied CV than Meat, he can succeed without Meat but Meat has only had lukewarm success without Jim and yet Meat is more famous than Jim in the UK (despite Jim being very famous amongst critics and media people). This is not necessarily because Meat is a performer. ALW is more famous than Meat. Jim needs to have his achievements (not just BOOH The Musical) properly promoted. Hopefully that will happen in the near future. Until then you have to forgive some posters for worrying that Meat being in the show might cast a shadow over Jim. However, I am pleased with your response because you thought about it and made a good arguement for what you were saying. > I disagree with the people who say Jim should get out of > "Meat Loaf's Shadow" in the casting thread below.
