| Hmmm...the posting of 'Private of Privates' online; a good thing or a bad thing? A good thing of course; an unheard Steinman track is always a joy to hear, and I quite like this one. I don't think a song this old needs to be locked away for a select few, and now thankfully it has been exposed to a few more Steinman fans who will hopefully get some genuine pleasure from it. Is Jim mad? I don't think he gives two shits that it's 'out there', judging by more recent mp3's he has provided. I'll even suggest he probably forgot it existed. Is Ray mad? I would guess he 'aint really bothered. Bear in mind this is a poor recording of a 30 year plus piano/vocal demo. If it was gonna be used for anything, I think Ray and/or Jim would have done it by now. Let's be honest, it really is only gonna be heard by a few hundred people tops?? If it was a recording of a current project (ie Bat musical), then that is more serious, and I would hope someone would check with JD first (ie seeking Jim's permission). I posted a brief review after hearing Privates, and expected a few more, instead there was a load of bollocks. If Jim and Ray were reading, I think they would have preferred some comments/reviews on the song, rather than who should/shouldn't have posted it. BTW - If I find anything remotely Steinman related, I'll always share for free, and don't need any thanks or credits (I hate egos), and Puddings Blog seems to be the logical place at the moment! So cheers to Pudding for posting his 'Privates' & running the blog, and cheers to Ryan for showing his 'Privates' to Pudding & running Bat Out Of Excess - Great Site!! | |
