I think it all goes back to "Bat Out Of Hell" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", maybe even "Fight Club". If you can have achievements like that, you can get work as long as you live? The difference between Meat Loaf and Emperor's New Clothes is that even if one person called him out, he still wouldn't listen. I think it would take an entire audience to do that and somehow I don't think that's ever going to happen because he will always have his rabid supporters.
