| > I'm surprised by how many good > reviews posters have given the performance. If you want my honest thoughts: I for one are surprised every time Meat Loaf is allowed to open his mouth somewhere. I just don't get it. I just don't get for how long he has already been able to make this work. Is anyone actually listening? He can't sing, he simply cannot sing! Yet he is surrounded by fine musicians, he is allowed to "sing" publicly -- ironically even on shows who concentrate on judging other people's singing abilities(!) -- he is allowed to make records, again and again and again. Anyone with a bit of a musical sense must recognize how bad he is. Sometimes you see people feeling embarassed who have to present him on shows etc., yet no one says anything, yet everyone pretends it wasn't so, yet he's still allowed to make recordings, concerts, appear on TV shows etc. Why? How does he make it work? Far better people get kicked for much smaller reasons all the time! I would so like to know what all these musicians are *honestly* thinking who [have to] work with him at one occasion or another. For example the orchestra guys on that "opera star" TV show. Or the lady, Juliette Pochin. Or the guys who keep on making records with Meat Loaf or going on tour with him. They know about it. Sometimes you can see it in their faces. Yet everyone pretends it wasn't so. Why? Why, why, why? It's like The Emperor's New Clothes. Only Meat Loaf isn't an emperor, so unlike in the story, there isn't even a serious reason for people to pretend they wouldn't see how bad and embarassing he is. I just don't understand it. And I feel sorry for Jim that his name still gets attached to this embarassing guy all the time. | |
