Is ALW Committing A Crime?

Ryan wrote something in the Science Fiction Thread that I thought would make an interesting new thread. Is ALW commiting a crime by tinkering with a classic movie like "Wizard Of Oz"? Is he so desperate to come up with a "Wicked" that he will write new songs for a score that is already famous? Does this have anything to do with the failure of "Love Never Dies"? Was he so deperate to cast Michael Crawford as the Wizard that he had no choice but to offer Crawford new songs? Ryan is actually an ALW fan. He wouldn't say these things if something wrong was not going on.

BTW, Ryan, I am really glad that you have changed your avatar from "Love Never Dies" to "Bat".
