No, he out right said that he was the inspiration for the song, and that he came up with the idea for the play by play. Everyone knows that Jim loved Phil Rizzuto and that it was HIS idea to bring him for the record. Meat really doesn't deserve all the second chanced Jim gave him, its a shame he never found anyone who really appreciates his work, someone like Rob Evan would have been awesome.
