I listened to a studio recording of Rob Evan singing "What Part Of My Body Hurts The Most" and I thought that he was techincally very good but that he really didn't have the emotional depth of a Meat Loaf (or Meat's ability to interpret Jim's lyrics). The first time I heard "Rock And Roll Dreams" was ages ago when Terry Wogan played it on Radio 2 and announced it as "Jim Steinman". I thought, wow, Jim has a really great singing voice but I later found out that it was Rory Dodd singing it. For some reason he is not credited with singing that particular song in the album credits (although he is for two other "Bad For Good" songs). Someone also once wrote on this board that Jim mimed to Rory's vocals for "Rock And Roll Dreams" on a German television show. If I never hear another example of Rory's vocal abilities, that one song is enough to make me agree with you that Jim should do an album with Rory. | |
