It's almost impossible for me to have a favourite album from artists that I like. There's so much to consider. For example, Pink Floyd, I can't choose "The dark side of the moon" over "The piper at the gates of dawn" because I love them for different reasons, and "Wish you were here" is one of the best followup albums I've heard of. Beatles again, I love "Please please me" as much as I love the later stuff, and the early stuff too like the album they recorded with Tony Sheridan. "River of dreams" Billy Joel was one of my first albums and I love that a lot but I wouldn't call it my favourite. "The stranger" and "52nd Street" are right up there though, but then I love the contrast between "Cold spring harbor" and "Piano man" and I love the intimacy of "Cold spring harbor". I love Carole King's "Tapestry" but I've never heard her other albums. I've heard other songs but not the full albums. Then Queen, there's something I love about every one of their albums, but they all have something that I don't like. "Sweet lady" from "A night at the opera" is the song from that album I don't like. What about cast recordings?
