Jim is completely irrelevant in the success of I'd Lie For You. The fact that song and WTTN did well was due to Meat becoming popular again after Bat2. He was back in the publics eye after pretty much flat-lining through the 80's.
I'd Lie For You isn't that bad of a song and Meat was popular again, put the two together and you have an hit. You personally might not like the song, which is fair enough, but a lot of people did. I like the song and there's not a chance in hell I'm going to be confused as being a Loafer.
