Then how come "I'd Lie For You" sounds like a second-rate "I'd Do Anything For Love". The characters in the songs are making similar statements. It's a duet. Warren creates a second-rate version of all the imagery in "Anything For Love". Critics at the time saw it as an attempt to cash-in on "Anything For Love". I'll also say that critics at the time saw "All Coming Back" as an escaped track from "Bat II" because it sounded so "Anything For Love".
The fact that song and WTTN did well was due to Meat

And why did he become popular? Because he "reunited" with Jim Steinman and did "Bat Out Of Hell II".
He was back in the

Only because he and Jim made the sequel to one of the greatest selling albums of all time. If it had have been "Dead Ringer II" it wouldn't have been the same.

I like the song too. I've gotten to like the album. But I still what Warren's purpose was. It's present in such other titles as "Not A Dry Eye In The House" and "If This Is The Last Kiss (Let's Make It Last All Night)" (now she's copying the bracket-thing.)
