"Dance Of The Vampires" should have never happened on Broadway. It should have been axed because it's not what the American audience wanted to see. Maybe if it went to the West End first? Instead, WB should have got on with "Batman: The Musical" and cast Crawford as the Joker, summing up his life as (IMO) he could have done the part like a true combination of Frank Spencer and the Phantom, and watch the video for "The Music Of The Night", he's so Joker it's not funny. Crawford would have had that different role he wanted, and it would have been the talk of the town for even LONGER than "Phantom", even it belly-flopped totally and utterly.
