I think the main problem for the show will not be securing finance, but securing ENOUGH finance to satisfy Jim's vision.
From his blog descriptions, it does sound very grandiose and in turn, very expensive.
I imagine there are quite a few 'theatre people' willing to invest in 'Bat Out of Hell', but Jim probably wants/needs $15-20 million??
I imagine Jim is working long hours on the show every day, but I agree he is 'overdue' a blog (the Batman songlist would be great)??
