| Didn't really care for "Hostel" myself. It could have been quite a good premise for a film and did have a few gory rather than scary moments, but had it been grounded a bit more in reality it might have been creepier. Firstly they couldn't decide which country they were in and just call everywhere Amsterdam (presumably because most Americans associate this with drugs, sex and partying), then they go on to a hostel that is nothing like any hostel that actually exists and would just make anyone be especially on their guard. The main characters disappear one by one without adequate explanation which would be creepy if done with suspense, but actually just feels like a plot hole. I just couldn't take it seriously at all, unlike Turistas which is an indication of what this film could have been. On the subject of gore, but a film making no sense at all, has anyone seen Ichi the Killer? peace, Will > Not a bad film, but a wasted opportunity.
