Unfortunately some aggressive people are so aggressive as to justify their misdeeds by their good deeds....see Daveake's mailing list? He makes himself an integral part of the forum for the man that he would sooner bury in the sandpile than elevate on a pedestal. So does Pudding, who makes his own integral value by placing much of wanted material on his blog. The pair act together because Pudding's links are often to Daveake's own servers, and lately Dave has been blogging on Pudding's blog. So they enjoy what they have, a corner of domination in a universe that they would defend for themselves, even though the universe is so different than the one they really love. Like Martians on Venus, they loathe all mentions and expansions of the beauty of Venus, as they lay down their Martian flags and defend their Martian territory on Venus. They are misplaced, because what they want is not really here, but what is here is a place to call their own, and the more aggresive they can be, the more they justify their aggressions through integral contributions that have nothing to do with the actual composer other than products from him, they have their place assured. It may not be the place they want, but it is good enough for them. Those who seek information like normal fans do, about the man behind the work, are looking towards those because they say to you that they know all there is to know. But they know nothing of him, want to know nothing of him, and only want to know what the power they could exert on others can be. If they can take a powerful force such as an interesting musical phenomenon, and control it, they win their Martian universe on Venus. And, naturally, they call me what they call me, or they call a real fan what they call them. Real fans belong here. If you feel like you would like to reclaim Venus, then this is a good place to begin. | |
