My mother is a Russian Grand Duchess, but shhh she won't admit to it. She is Czar Alexei's second daughter. In the Russian tradition, the order is Czar, Grand Duchess, Princess, with respect to females. And Czar, Grand Duke, and Prince, with respect to males. A princess in Russian history therefore, is a second generation from the Czar.
