Running at the New York Public Theater from November 21, 1973 to January 13, 1974, More Than You Deserve was an anti-war play written by Michael Weller which blended a Vietnam war scenario - diving into some of the horror, dehumanization, brutality and atrocities which occurred - with an outrageous satirical send-up of post-WW2 movie musicals which glorified war in a bright and cheerful way.
Jim Steinman composed the music and co-wrote the lyrics for this show, though history may come to remember this most of all as the show where Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf first met.
