When I was undergoing the hypoglycemic test in this really strange clinical research section of the hospital where they usually deal with diabetics and clinical studies, I felt comforted to see a defibrillator there in the hallway. I looked at the paddles, which I'd never seen up close, and it just seemed like an insurmountable imagination to have such an experience as having to be shocked by those. But gladly, I did not need them, or the two IV's, one on each arm, for quick infusions of sugar. In the ER they pumped my arm full of pharaceutical dextrose, then gave me eight ounces of fruit juice, before my blood sugar level reached a reasonable level as if after a light lunch.

The blood sugar level was so low, they never saw it so low before. The Journal of Medicine team visited me in my room. A strange panel of like six doctors asking me questions. Luckily, whatever took place to bring me that critical episode on Saturday morning (even though I entered the ER Triage on Friday, I was first brought in twelve hours later on Saturday morning), did not repeat itself. Today I was careful to eat at every bit of hint of low level.
