| I would welcome a discussion with her. I'm not arguing with you about whether or not a sequel can have similarities, but what you seem to miss in my post is that initially this wasn't even advertised as a sequel! This was advertised as a completely original film "inspired by films such as" SOF, a claim of originality which everyone could tell by looking at the site was utter bollocks because the design and the characters, etc., sounded like pages right out of SOF. When mainstream Net news sources picked it up, then (and only then) did the word of it being a sequel to SOF came out. I assume they were trying to avoid some sort of legal trouble. But now the way things are stacking up similarity wise, down to the use of two songs in the soundtrack that would no doubt fit in at the same dramatic points in the film, I repeat that unless they did get permission and this is some sort of authorized sequel, then Walter Hill and whoever else worked on the film has every right to sue. I know the saying "Innocent till proven guilty," and I understand that, but the way they went about this gradual release of information smells fishy, hence my skepticism. You're free to have your opinion, I'm free to have mine. Live and let live.
