| I think it is very obvious that Steve Steinman is exploiting both Jim and Meat Loaf. Mr. Loaf is worried about Steve's Bat Out Of Hell The Symphony because it will be using the songs that feature in his concerts. Mr. Loaf can't complain about Bat Out Of Hell The Musical because of a legal agreement with Jim. But in the case of Steve Steinman, I feel he is justified. Jim and Mr. Loaf went through so much to make those songs famous. It seems unfair that Steve Steinman can just pick them up and exploit them. I think Jim should be worried too. Apparently he won't make any money from the Steve Steinman show because it is being performed as a concert (the situation with Bat The Musical is very different). But what about the pyrothechnics and othere effects mentioned in the article posted by Bellminer. Surely it is more than a concert. Steve says that "Meat is wacky" because he is paying tribute to the songs and not the artist but he seems to forget that Jim is the real artist behind Bat. He must surely realise that he is exploiting Jim. His last name was not Steinman. He changed it so that people would think he was Jim. It is a name change that has made him a lot of money. He now has a forty piece orchestra and it was mainly Jim's songs that allowed him to build up to his present lofty level (although he did use other songs in his carear - it is mainly the Steinman brand that has elevated him to where he is today). | |
