I didn't know about "Born To Run". So Iovine started as an engineer for Bruce Springsteen and now he controls a massive record company? Sometimes people point out that two members of the E-Street band worked on "BOOH" but I haven't heard about the Iovine connection before. Forgive me. I am ignorant. That fact should help to bolster a certain person's Bruce Springsteen musical conspiracy theory. > Iovine was also in charge of (the music for) Streets Of > Fire, and got Jim to contribute. Some people write on the board that "Streets Of Fire" introduced them to Jim's music. How many films feature Jim's music? I recently noticed "TEOTH" being used in "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid". > I've said for ages that AI could do a Steinman guest judge > night, but who knows whether they would, or Jim would want > to? Would they understand how wonderful a Jim Steinman night could be? Or is ALW the only songwriter that they would give a night to? Benny and Bjorn don't count with this question because of course they were also performers. Did Bacharach ever do an Idol night? I am guessing that Jim would make the effort if they gave him an Idol night. Probably Steve Rinkoff would help him to get through it. > If he can, I think Jim should do the odd project to > promote his name (again), prior to the Bat musical > (whenever that will happen). Don't you think that Jim is saving his promotional opportunites for "BOOH The Musical"? Of course there are articles about Jim appearing (like the online Classic Rock tribute) and Meat Loaf often mentions Jim in interviews and American Idol might be too good to turn down but it won't be easy for Jim to get a lot of UK newspaper coverage over and over again. I think "BOOH" is his passion (at the moment) and he will start doing publicity left, right and center to promote it, when the time is right. "Tanz" is the most successful show in German history but Jim is not using that to promote himself in the British media. He could if he wanted to but I think he is saving his promotional opportunities for "BOOH The Musical" and the albums that will be linked to it. > I think 'Body...' would be great for Adam Lambert's next > album, or 'Safe Sex' for Pixie Lott's next album (managed > by Sonenberg). Yes and it would be nice if both of them could be in the show. I think Adam is very talented and Pixie is apparently keen to play Wendy (although her publicist called the show "Meat Loaf's BOOH The Musical). I hear that Adam Lambert and Fergie(another Sonenberg artist) want to do a duet together. > Would also love to see a (final) Meat Loaf project. Jim and Meat are like brothers who fall out and then make up again. I actually think that Meat wants to work with Jim more than the other way around. But it would be great. | |
