The X Factor has run its course and > ruined the music industry enough. Exactly. Well said. Like the Rage Against The Machine single last Christmas, it should be seen as an anti-X Factor campaign. Once again organized via the internet. I know that some posters here were offended by Wagner's version of Bat Out Of Hell but hopefully they will be able to see the funny side of it eventually. I certainly don't think Louis meant any disrespect to Jim (Louis is the only judge I like). > Having said that none of > these singers (not "artists" as most of them don't write a > single song) will really be around that long I think. That's true. Although I notice that Susan Boyle has become the only artist since The Beatles to have two number one albums in both the UK and the US in the same year. I know she's from Britain's Got Talent (and she didn't win). To me, BGT is much more interesting than X Factor (even though I continue to watch X Factor - as do the thousands involved in the Wagner internet campaign). > It's > all very temporary. And most of them won't make it. Doubt > Joe Mcelderry or Olly Murrs have longevity. Olly is so dull. The judges stood up and applauded him and they sat still for Jamiroquai. Although I hear rumours that he had a go at Cheryl and Danni before he appeared. > Something that I think hasn't been reported in the UK > press is the fact that Louis Walsh first wanted the Dutch > female soul singer as his wild card but she refused to > participate after being rejected the first time so Wagner > really was a third choice here! Gosh. Very interesting. I didn't know that. The anti-X Factor internet campaigners were lucky to get Wagner. He's perfect for them. > I read a funny comment from someone saying that he > reckoned the people who vote for Wagner are the people > also voting for Widdecombe and who voted for the Liberal > Democrats! Lol! Ha ha. That's probably true. Anne is the most awful dancer but the public love her. Maybe Wagner is getting legitimate votes from people who love his awful singing. His votes might not all be coming from the internet campaign. | |
