Interesting points. According to what I have heard Todd had to rein in Jim at times and make changes on "Bat". Meat's vocals were strong, he had a look that drew attention, and he toured himself nearly to literal ruin selling the album. I think Todd and Meat brought a lot to the table.
That said I think Jim would have made a good album, and his vocals on BFG are nothing to be ashamed of but I don't think the album would have ever been a mainstream smash. Of course, Meat nearly destroyed himself and so much happened it is hard to say. I do think Meat was right in fighting to the point of sobbbing to have Jim credited alongside him on the album and that should Meat ever make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (such as it is) it should be a dual induction of both Meat and Jim. The way they wanted it from the start.
