| Now, this may be opening up a can of worms but I cant help but read on here songs that, while I think are good, aren't really THAT special, everyone is of course welcome to do discuss and disagree my choices. Heaven Can Wait An odd one, as I really like this song as a piece of music, it sounds very much like a lullaby as Jim wanted it to be like that. But the lyrics dont do anything for me, the album would have been better had this just been a piece of music. I would do anything for love For me, this sums up whats, not wrong, but missing from Bat 2. Jim progressed so much as a song writer between the two Bat albums, but this I just feel is him doing an impression of himself from 1977. Plus, I find the song's story fairly generic. Objects A song packed full of cool ideas but never executed correctly. The only song of im's where you really do begin to feel its length. The good bits of the song are to far apart from one another (The beginning and the end verses in this case) the middle verse could be taken out and it would make the song a hell of alot better. One more thing, the songs seems very un balenced, in places it sounds very soft, very For crying out loud esque, but in others are littered with backing vocals and guitar solo's that really break the atmosphere created earlier in the song. What part of my body I love this song, I really really do, it has the MAKINGS of Steinman classic. However, from the version of it that I've heard, there's only about three minutes worth of actual song in there and the other 2 minutes is just a course on a loop. The song either needs another verse or trimming down to omit the endless course recycle. Note: this is my opinon, if you disagree then say so WITHOUT getting personal thank you :) | |
