Even to ALW. Carrie, which is probably still the most legendary flop in Broadway musical history, had its moments as well. I heard a version of Betty Buckley singing the song "And Eve was weak" which was sung by Carrie's mother and I thought that was just incredible. It was sensational. Just freaking sensational. But they redid the musical recently and they've just released the premiere cast recording, which was the first time that the entire score had been recorded and released officially on CD. Dance of the Vampires had its moments too. The dream sequence in "Braver than we are" with the mirrors that come down both in front and behind with the dancers being reflected over and over was for me just stunning. Also, when the drawbridge came down from the back of the stage before Crawford sang "Come with me" at the end of act one. Sure, it had its moments. | |
