Look at how many ALW shows have not > been to Broadway but have at least been tried out in the > West End. I haven't fully seen or heard the Washington version, but I know some things like: "The Vaults of Heaven" was broken up with dialogue whereas the version in London was a complete song. The song "Try not to be afraid" didn't exist yet or if it did it wasn't used in the production. "A kiss is a terrible thing to waste" is different in places than the version in London. But those are only minor things, I guess. The children had an aunt whose name was Dot who did not appear in the London version. I have programmes for both of the productions and here are the song lists from each: Whistle Down The Wind (1996) The Vaults Of Heaven Spider Grownups Kill Me Whistle Down The Wind The Vow Safe Haven Tire Tracks And Broken Hearts Safe Haven (Reprise) If Only Cold When Children Rule The World Annie Christmas No Matter What Finale Act One Safe Haven (Reprise) A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste Tire Tracks And Broken Hearts (Reprise) Annie Christmas (Reprise) The Soliloquy Wrestle With The Devil Nature Of The Beast When Children Rule The World (Reprise) Whistle Down The Wind (Reprise) Whistle Down The Wind (1998) The Vaults Of Heaven Overture I Never Get What I Pray For Home By Now Whistle Down The Wind The Vow Cold Unsettled Scores If Only Tire Tracks And Broken Hearts Safe Haven Long Overdue For A Miracle When Children Rule The World Annie Christmas No Matter What Try Not To Be Afraid A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste If Only (Reprise) Charlie Christmas Off Ramp Exit To Paradise Safe Haven (Reprise) Wrestle With The Devil The Hunt Nature Of The Beast Whistle Down The Wind (Reprise) | |
