They absolutely improved the visual look of the show, in my opinion. The Melbourne production of "Love never dies" visually, as far as I'm concerned, is up there with Andrew Lloyd Webber's greatest, which includes "Phantom". And some of the ideas in the storyline were refined a bit, but sigh, I can't think of any musical that I at both times passionately love and hate, because I hate what they did with the story, but I love that music wholly and completely. The tune for "Love never dies" has always been one that I've loved and I'm glad that it got the full orchestral treatment after it had been reused in "The Beautiful Game", which was also a nice version. | |
