From variety. I am guessing if this manages to actually come together, and then succeed, we can all begin wondering if Batman will happen again???

Marvel Studios has confirmed it's developing a Broadway tuner version of "Spider-Man," with music by Bono and The Edge of U2. Julie Taymor ("The Lion King") directs.

Word of the musical, or at least of the idea for it, has been circulating around the Rialto for some time now. But with a developmental reading planned for the summer -- in the wake of Sony tentpole "Spider-Man 3," opening May 4 -- the show is going public.

Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle, Martin McCallum, Marvel Entertainment and SONY Pictures Entertainment produce.

Plot details, extracted from a casting notice for the reading, seem to involve Spidey-verse villains Norman Osborne (the Green Goblin) and the wily female-Spidey Arachne.

No timeline for the tuner, which seems likely to cost at least $15 million, has yet been set.
