> Can't believe I am doing this but... Thank you for replying. The past is the long gone past, and it was not a representative of me. Getting to know me is, I hope, a relatively painless experience. > > 1. what more fun than to ponder upon what favourite > artists of yours could team up and make heaven and earth > move with their combined talents and passions? Well, in wanting more, if there was more to Jim, than what projects you already know, would you like that? New projects, new activities, new horizons of himself, that you have not seen in the works he has done with Meatloaf or these other vocalists, or with Tanz, new talents of himself, new dimensions to what he could bring to the creative table, would you be interested in more, of that? Do you feel pleasure in thinking of something like that? > > 2. your dreams more real than mine... I doubt it but how > does one compare such things? Let us not go into another > argument on who's dreams are more real and who is the > bigger and better fan. Please. I'm sorry but it is natural for you in this setting to easily mistake my meaning, and let me try to clarify it for you. By dreams, I mean the scenarios that we each bring to this set of messages, your dreams of projects, and my dreams of other things that some call crazy, and I do not compare them other than that you know that your dreams are not real, and according to my detractors, I am yet to discover that mine are not real. As for who is the bigger and better fan, I argue with nobody about that. In fact, I'd like people who do not do all that you do, to perceive themselves as valued a fan as you who do. Indeed, when the lights are down, it is not twenty-five people who filled the house. In such a case, I'd more likely be in one of two possible places: at home, or backstage. I am indeed a fan, but my logistics are different. > > 3. I cannot imagine any of our ponderings to be important > enough to damage Jim's reputation or change the way he > sees himself. Most of your ponderings damage Jimmy's fan-perceived reputation and change the way he sees himself, where it has to do with his most ardent and devoted fans. I can surely attest, that his legs are long enough to reach the ground, as some of you wondered of in the past. Jimmy's self-image, that part of it that has to do with any fans, has to come from his imaginings of those fans who do not post on this board. But on the other side of the coin, Jimmy did help to create the same sorts of misconceptions that exist now, and those that he did not help to create, he is not resisting. But, in the middle balance of it all, a man is a man is a man. And Jimmy needs his due recognition and to be taken seriously. >I enjoy that he takes requests and replies > on the board through his blog but would never assume to > have a direct influence on his life, his writing or his > outlook on either. When was the last time he replied on the board other than to dispel a rapidly growing and destructive rumor? What requests does he take? I do believe that you would assume to have an influence on the man who loves you, yes? If he decides to use the garbage disposal instead of the trash bag, because you told him it is cleaner, would that not be an influence? Of course, you would assume that you have influenced his compliance. If he became artistic and wrote verses and read them to you, and you found passages in it and he said yes that is for you, would you assume that he was influenced by you? Do you believe that every man is influenced by something, and that not every man declares to his ardent fans who his friends are? Why would he not? Because it is important to be seen seriously and there is not any such thing. I fail to see your logic in assuming that I don't know this man. Because someone says so? What assumptions are you making in your judgment of the source? I am not to argue. If it is so much struggle to make a point, then like the troll you think I am, I can stop, and then when the lights are down, I still will either be at home or backstage. You will not have an affect upon my life. My legs are also long enough to reach the ground. > > 4. Jim does reply to what goes on on the board, he has > just chosen not to do that here. And I do believe at least some of the threads > that go ugly come from a desire of one fan to defend > his/her hero to another fan. Relapsing into another 'who's > the better fan' debate. Pointless! Blog test, passing blog stone.....yeah, those are meaningful replies. I see your point. > > 5. What issues did he call Siegel about? If Siegel takes his phone calls, I call that enough credibility to do some inappropriate mischief. At least, he costs Jimmy money. > 6. If things are black and white facts, what is the point > in discussing them? And besides, considering the replies > we have recieved from Jim in the past months, who says > nothing we dream of here will ever come to be real? What things are black and white facts? If Jimmy belched on the board you'd call that a fulfillment? I don't see any form of quality in those replies other than the barest minimums. The last time he said something lengthy and informative, it was in August, and then not again until December? He's half in the door, and half out of the door. > > 7. Yes, so what is so ugly about the dreams that I present? > And if to dream is what it takes to make seemingly > impossible things happen, then why should we be refused to > dream and grow? Indeed. You have a good head on your shoulders. Let us share some of its agreements. | |
