No, but I bought him a European Impressionist calendar book in 1992, which he liked because we had been speaking of impressionist art in our first lengthy conversation getting back together after many years, and it was for his birthday. I also bought for him a Seiko wristwatch which was something he described to me when I asked him what style of watch to get. Movado was my first choice, but too pricey for me to do. So, Seiko had this really fabulous thing in the store where I was shopping that had just the exact features that Jim said he favored. He loved it. It was blue faced plain, no numbers, on a stainless steel band. I also bought Jim countless cups of coffee from Starbucks when I was on my way to picking him up mornings during 1995, and I stopped buying the danishes when he complained that the way Starbucks made them or got them they were too dry. I bought Jim for Christmas of 1997 (I think) an ensemble of small gifts that I assembled throughout miscellaneous shopping trips. An anchor key chain from the store called Things Remembered, which engraves things but I did not engrave it, the box it was in was like an engravement of its own. A couple of after shaves that I liked. And whatever else I don't recall. For his birthday of 1999 I bought him a bag of Hershey's Kisses that I put into a decorative bag of The Cat In The Hat. For my birthday of that year in the middle of a fight of all things, I bought for him a potted herb garden that was on sale at the market called Trader Joe's. Why did I get something for him on my birthday? To spite him!
