This watch was not the same year....it was in 1995, three years later. It was not for any birthday. I just felt like buying him a watch. I had a piece of jewelry on a layaway for myself, and when it reached a certain amount I cancelled that and moved the funds to the purchase of Jim's watch. Then Jim decided he wanted to wear the watch only when dressed up. Otherwise, he was happy with his fifteen dollar timex. But, in 1992 he had a much more elaborate wrist-watch that broke at one point. He goes through phases.
