Why? TDE was only ever a group who sang cover versions of Jims songs with the odd one or two new(ish) ones. TDE was never and could never be this super band with Rob Evan as lead singer.
Since TDE is done and dusted we'll never know what new songs Jim might have had in mind for them. But all they ever was is a vehicle to perform Jims back catalogue. A vehicle that should really be still going and touring today, but due to piss poor handling they're not.
Jim might not be able to play the piano like he once did, but he's not a cabbage and still had use of his fingers, I think you're giving Jim far too little credit Smeg.
