At the time Jim had a lot invested in it. Like so many things he dumped it, but it was his next big thing. If you look at their website their list of all their new songs is basically all the stuff Jim had already written. TDE was > never and could never be this super band with Rob Evan as > lead singer. Why? Because he doesn't have the charisma of an Amy Winehouse or the talent of a Britney Spears? Rob has had a successful career on Broadway, and has recorded many albums. He certainly had more going for him than many who made it big. If he had had a hit with WPOMBHTM the group might have gone somewhere. > > Since TDE is done and dusted we'll never know what new > songs Jim might have had in mind for them. Because Jim has no new songs except in his mind. But all they > ever was is a vehicle to perform Jims back catalogue. That's not true. > Jim might not be able to play the piano like he once did, > but he's not a cabbage and still had use of his fingers, I > think you're giving Jim far too little credit Smeg. Jim was unable to play the piano after his strokes. Whether he recovered that ability I do not know. It is just my theory as to why we have not heard a note of new music from the man since the strokes. The only new lyrics we heard were Always it's the war and Devil's Playground. I know he could write new lyrics, but I don't see new songs coming. I hope I'm wrong. It is just a theory, but it is based on the evidence that he could not play after his strokes and that is how he composes and he has composed nothing since that time. | |
