As Bellminer pointed out in this thread, someone threw their Celine Dion CD away. He refused to accept a free copy. Another said he was going to burn his. One chap said that his wife was a silly cow because she preffered Celine's version. You couldn't have read all the posts if you think that people weren't being negative towards Celine. Read some of the comments in this thread. More people on the board being negative about her. I wasn't limiting this to the IACBTMN thread. There's been quite a lot of negative comments about her. You say: "Celine's version is completely unsurprising." Okay. You may be right. But I was trying to make the point that Pudding made about Steve Steinman. That anyone who is bringing Jim's music to a wider audience is just. You may not like her. You may find her unsurprising. You may not be able to stand her (as Bellminer said). But like Steve Steinman, she has helped to bring attention to Jim's music. Probably you are correct that the Pandora's Box version is better. I shouldn't judge it by the video. But that's not the point. | |
