I've never seen Paul Simon with that haircut. But for some reason they do look cool. Is it because Simon is a genius of songwriting and Garfunkel is a genius of singing? Perhaps their talent alters the way we see their physical look. How would we see them if they had put out I'm All Out Of Love instead of Sounds Of Silence and Bridge Over Troubled Water? Although MLOONAA is a brilliant song and it didn't help Air Supply to look cool. Despite getting the number two spot in the US charts. It's not that performers need to be good looking in a traditional way. That would be very boring. Meat Loaf was just right for Bat. His long greesy hair and his fat actually made him more believeable as the hero or anti-hero of the BOOH songs. He doesn't look so BOOH like now that he has cut his hair and lost weight (and grown older). This is probably why he wears a wig when he performs Paradise. I don't think BOOH would have been quite such a big hit if Meat had cut his hair and lost weight back in the late seventies. Also, Bonnie was just right for TEOTH. She is not atractive like a model but she looked like the kind of woman who would sing that epic. | |
