| The crowning of a quality X Factor winner may be sabotaged by viewers, as millions continue to vote for Wagner Carrilho simply to vex Simon Cowell. The X Factor joke has been tipped by bookmakers to make it through to the very end of the contest. Week after week, the public have voted to keep the Brazilian singer in the ITV reality show - against the judges' wishes. According to internet leaks Wagner is regularly in the top half of the results, despite most of us admitting he's tone deaf. Fans are determined to keep him on the show to annoy Simon and for many it seems he's the perfect antidote to the polished style of the show. Wagner recently won over more fans by criticising the shows boss, he said: "Nobody tells Simon Cowell what to do. The public do not decide who is going to win The X Factor. It is Simon Cowell." A Facebook group urging the public to vote for him has more than 30,000 members. One fan wrote: "I want him to win and throw a spanner in the works of Simon Cowell 's obscene money-making machine." Meanwhile, the website votefortheworst.com has also been urging people to sabotage the show. The site declared yesterday: "The UK have done it again, after the 54-year-old survived Sunday's vote." The same effect has been happening over on Strictly Come Dancing with viewers voting to keep the worst contestant, Ann Widdecombe, on the show. She survived another week despite coming last in the judges' scores. Her foxtrot was described as ''laboured'' and ''disorientated'' yet the public voted anyway. Last year it was Rage Against the Machine that campaigned to keep the X Factor winner away from a Christmas number one, but this year it seems it's the shows viewers themselves who are running their very own 'Wagner style' boycott. | |
