I believe I remember that some folks here said something along the lines of actually liking the Handbasket album, but for me I must confess that it was the first Loaf album that I had a big urge to turn off before having listened to it all the way through. As far as I'm concerned, even Teddybear was quite a bit better. Of course, taste differs, and my dislike for Handbasket surely is in no way related with Mr Crook's production, but rather with the fact that the big majority of songs on that album suck. So, Crook's production along with Jim's songs and a few additional tracks of similar quality could very well work out. Especially if Jim is asked for input in production and when Rinkoff is also involved. While can't imagine that the forthcoming album will be one more really major international success (Meat's probably past the point of achieving such things by now), I can very well imagine a well-deserved limited success as this could really become an album that those involved in the making as well as the fans can be proud of. It certainly is, after a long, long time, the first Steinman-related project that I'm positively looking forward to. Let's wait and see how things turn out! :-) | |
