Streets Of Fire & Road To hell

With the release this autumn of RTH, i'd like to ask Jim about the song Nowhere Fast.
As we all know theres the film version and Meatloafs version, around the time of release i remember reading an article that said that the original version was given to Meatloaf and a rewrite of the song was done for the film, i'd like to know
1- Was the meatloaf version originally intended for the film?
2- If it was, who decided it wasn't suitable, you or the film company?
3- If it was your decision, what was it about the original version that made you consider a rewrite?

Personally i prefer the SOF version, but the above questions have had me wondering for years.

On a final note i've been in contact with RTH screenwriter Cynthia Curnan who's in the process of registering for the Rockman board.
