| Art alone doesn't put bums on seats and you need bums on seats to pay the bills for the art you're trying to share with the public. No musical nowadays will be successful through word of mouth alone, you need commercial pablum. I get the impression you feel that no matter what course of marketting Jim might take with the musical you'd compare it to DOTV, is that correct? And what is art at the end of the day? What you might class as art, I might think it's a pile of shit and vice versa. Art is, what you interpret it to be. > Why do so many people on here want to push a casting show? > It is the worst bit of commercialism that would be > proving the show has lost all attempts at being art and is > just a piece of commercial pablum. > > > > Seems to me the reason it was scrapped was because ALW > > > pulled out, unless ALW is attached to the Bat musical in > > > some way I doubt anything will jump into its place. > > > > Possibly, but I think the 'Bat Out of Hell' name is quite > > strong in the UK and may make the difference? > > > > It's all just speculation anyway, as Jim probably hates > > the idea and/or the Bat musical may be a long way away. > > > > | |
