It's eye opening stuff, and a warning to anyone who wants to get into the murky world of the music 'business'. Bat 3 I was not telling anyone here not to like Bat 3, What I was saying Bat 3 left a bad taste in my mouth and just because I don't like the feeling it left me with and I talk about my feelings in the press about how bad it felt to be there . Example : have them take Patti off ACBTMN and put Marion (Don't get me wrong I love Marion) because Alan Kovac managed her and was trying to break her using me. Blackmailed by the US record Co.on the first single which should have been "Blind as a Bat" and so forth and so on. What I got mad about was someone saying that I was not entitled to express my opinion 3 years after the fact. All I see written here is that "we are entitled to our opinions " Does that mean I'm not. If you like Bat 3 that's great play it forever and love it . M (I)t was not the BAT 3 I wanted but after Desmond lied and went over the budget 1.2 million dollars . I was lied to for months saying "oh Yes we are right on budget". Finally I went to the accountants responsible for payments and asked "we can't be on budget can we" . they started looking at payments at that point we were 600,000 over and with so much work to do I couldn't keep fighting I had to finish what I had. The accountants were fired that day. It was their job. There are more stories of the naked truth to bat 3 I was hoping Jim would come on board and help finish the record. with a couple of different songs. Get rid of Monster and a couple of others. The lyrics on monster are just not well structured . Patti got very upset and left the tour and I didn't blame her. She a great great lady and she did not deserve what happen to her and no matter who did what to me, The buck stops with me and I was wrong not to actually just walk away or just punch someone. I love Patti and she got screwed. M I like Blind as a Bat, and all the Jim songs. M Lets go deeper. Steinman was the producer. He was sent a check in Dec. of 2005 . The largest amount every paid to a producer in History.With a contract to produce, the contract was never signed, even though we were promised that it was and the fax machine was just broken. (Now we have selective amnesia) It was returned unsigned with the check in Jan. of 2006 by his lawyer and David Sonnenberg . They ask for more than twice the amount. The record Co. and Kovac were so mad and they all said they would never pay that kind of money. They all said move on. So, it was not all my fault and I will not take all the blame from that Steinman camp . Who have said it was all my fault that he did not produce. We had a deal and then Sonnenberg took back over and screwed it up. So all of you who blame me should understand they are 2 sides to every story. The money was coming from the record co. They took it as an insult. Now, all that will happen is that what I have written here is nothing but lies of course. Because I am the only one who is in the wrong , all the time, every time, till the end of time. M Dude , Jim did want to produce he has even written me and said he was heart broken by the whole thing. Jim's lawyer came at us first. Did you know that part of the story. No ! because you only get a one sided view. M Their lawsuit was coming , we just filed first . To keep the record co. happy. Dude , you people have know idea . You only think you know the truth. You are all walking in the dark . Of course money was an issue. Commissions to lawyers , agents and managers. You think in a very small world. Jim wanted to wait to start the record , So Sonenberg used a strategy with the record Co. that backfired and did nothing but pissed them off. Dude , Sonenberg sued me in 1981 for 100 million dollars and Jim was part of it. He took everything from me, So when a record co . tells you record or be sued. You record, walk in my shoes . I am being blamed by you, You said I was not telling the truth and you don't believe a word of it. Jim tried to leave David in 2005. What happen there I don't know , I can only imagine , the threats of lawsuits and what holes David has dug for Jim. I hope Jim and I will work together again. Not because either of of us need it but because we should. The work we have done together is remarkable. I love Jim with all my Heart. I have said he was in the top three things of my life the other two Pearl and Amanda. M | |
