When Bat III was in development Meat said on MLUKFC (or somewhere) that there'd be no tour. He would only do 3 important dates in London, Paris and New York. How amazing would THAT have been? He's done a tour for everyone of his albums. BAT III (if only it *had* Steinman's involvement) could have been a TRUE event with those rare concert engagements sharing that philosophy. Seriously, imagine if Meat and Jim were to just be on a stage with Jim at the Grand, both in black suits, and an orchestra down below and the band masked behind a scrim? 30 years on from the original "Bat Out Of Hell". It sure as hell beats another world tour which he's done so many times before. I think, the less you see Meat, the more powerful and theatrical his performances become. If he were to be a rare performer he could even be ten-times richer than he is now, earning thousands of dollars a seat, like a WORLD-CLASS SPECTACLE, one of those things you only witness once or TWICE in a lifetime (if you're lucky). Meat in his prime was just that. I still wish he had have opted for the London/Paris/New York thing with a 3 DVD set of all 3 performances. | |
