| not offended and not in the UK....but that's clearly off the topic... which is where did he get all those horrible toys... so... back on topic... sort of... how can you own a deadly weapon and claim you never intended to kill anyone?? You were aware of it's capacity to do so when you purchased it and so you at least considered the possibility that it might do just that... guns are made for one thing only... killing other living beings... and even if it is in self-defense... that doesn't make the other person any less dead... I am not saying I would never kill anyone... if I thought it the only way to protect my kid... you'd be surprised how fast the other would be dead... but I will never own a gun and purposefully bring another person's death into my house... I also believe that agression invites more agression... and the last thing we need is more agression in my not so humble opinion... The fact that this person was 'of age' brings a whole new aspect to the discussion anyway... it's not like it was a 7 year old boy who found the keys to dad's secret cabinet and accidentally killed his 5 year old brother... nor was it a troubled 12 year old with little understanding of the consequences of his actions... This was indeed intentional and I think that is the reason why we respond so much more intensely... Still leaves us with the question of why he wasn't stopped earlier... Klasien | |
